Description

C++ Software Engineer - International Travel. My client is an award winning IT R&D Company, selling a renowned suite of products and services globally. Due to ongoing expansion, we now require a Lead Engineer to join our client facing Professional Services Team. The professional services team are client facing and travel globally, so we require flexibility to travel (approx 25%+) and the interpersonal skills needed to represent your company on site. Note: Key to this role is your hands on development skills on a Unix platform with strong Oracle Database skills and efficient scripting ability. We have successfully placed a number of candidates into this company and can offer a lot of guidance to help you through the Recruitment Process. To be considered for interview your skills and experience will include: Bachelors Degree with 6+yrs Industry experience. You will have worked as a Developer in either C++ or Java, before progressing to a Team Lead role with customer facing responsibilities. Polished communication skills, enabling you to charm and influence your prospective clients. Proven record of planning and delivery of product/project to customers. Customer management experience. Delivery of complex products to multiple customers. Experience of technically managing a complex systems integration project. Project Development Lifecycle. Design and development methodologies. Strong UNIX skills. Skilled with Relational Databases, preferably Oracle. The following are a distinct advantage: Billing/Mediation systems. Working with CMM or ISO 9000. C/C++/Java/Shell scripting. Telecoms Protocols. On successful hire your duties and responsibilities will include: Interfacing with Customers on requirements definition and all aspects of project delivery Interfacing with the Product and Test Groups regarding product releases Preparing and planning projects, and driving those plans through to a successful conclusion. Travel to customer sites and install new Software Systems - you'll need strong development skills in Unix, with excellent Oracle Database and Scripting skills. Interviewing and resourcing project teams Managing and tracking effort and progress Mentoring and review of engineers Interfacing with Sales for new project requirements and commercial issues Interfacing with the Support Team to hand over completed projects and to respond to any problem escalations from the Support Team This is a great opportunity in a company that can offer an ambundance of career opportunities.
